Americano
One button. A shot and 135 ml of hot water, poured in that order.

whole beans, medium roast
4.5 fl oz
hot water, added by the machine
Instructions

Grind and tamp as you would for espresso - level 15, double grind, flat bed.

Lock the portafilter in and put a tall cup underneath. The Americano pours 170 ml in total, so leave room.

Press the Americano button. The machine pulls 35 ml of espresso, then follows it with 135 ml of hot water.

For a softer cup, press hot water first and pull the shot on top instead. The crema survives the journey better that way.
