Meet the Rowan Nova Reverie, Available to Pre-Order on Aug 20

Nova Reverie

Getting good espresso at home usually means buying a grinder as well as a machine, then spending a few months figuring out why one shot runs fast and the next runs slow. The Rowan Nova Reverie puts all of it in one box and hands you a touch screen. It also just won the 2026 TWICE VIP Award for Home Appliances: Beverage Makers.

The machine starts presale on August 20 and is expected to ship September 10.

Grind, dose, and tamp happen on their own

The gap between good espresso and disappointing espresso usually comes down to the grind and the tamp, and both are done by hand on most machines under a thousand dollars.

The Nova Reverie handles both internally. Beans go into the 8.5 oz hopper, the machine grinds and doses into the 58mm portafilter, and a built-in automatic tamper applies even pressure every time. You do not need a second appliance on your counter, and you do not need to learn to tamp evenly by hand.

A drink in under a minute

A 1500W flash-heating system brings the machine to brewing temperature in about 20 seconds. Start to finish, a full drink takes under a minute, which is fast enough for a weekday morning.

Temperature is where cheap machines drift. The Nova Reverie uses PID control alongside NTC sensors to hold extraction between 198 and 205 degrees Fahrenheit, the window where coffee oils pull cleanly and the shot avoids the sour thinness of an under-heated machine. Pressure and heat control are most of what separates espresso from drip coffee.

The parts a barista would look for

9-bar Italian ULKA pump. Nine bars is the accepted standard for espresso extraction, and the ULKA is the same pump family used in commercial equipment.

58mm stainless steel portafilter. This is the size commercial machines use. Machines at this price often ship a smaller pressurized basket instead. Single and double-wall filter baskets are both included, so you can start with the forgiving one and graduate.

Automatic pressure relief. The machine releases residual pressure after each shot, which means no spray when you knock out the puck.

304 stainless steel with a fingerprint-resistant finish. At 14.35 inches wide and 18.63 inches tall, it fits under a standard cabinet and is meant to stay on the counter.

Four drinks from one machine

The Nova Reverie runs espresso, Americano, hot water, and steam from a single glass touch screen. A 400ml milk frothing pitcher is in the box, so you can steam milk for a flat white or a cappuccino on day one. The 0.66 gallon water tank covers a morning for a household of two or three before it needs a refill. A single pours 1.2 fl oz, a double 2.4 fl oz.

What comes in the box

  • 58mm stainless steel portafilter
  • Single-wall and double-wall filter baskets
  • 400ml milk frothing pitcher
  • Cup holder
  • Steam wand pin, cleaning brushes, and cleaning cloth
  • Descaling agent pack

Scale is the main reason home espresso machines lose pressure and temperature over time. The descaler pack gets you through your first descaling cycle without a trip to the store.

The Nova Reverie ships with a 1-Year Limited Warranty, with 2-year and 3-year extensions available at checkout.

Presale opens August 20

Presale pricing is $639.99, down from $849.99. Presale orders are filled first when the machine officially launches, expected to ship September 10th.

The rest of the Rowan espresso lineup is there if you want to compare before you commit.
